Chairman's Report - 2005/06
The activities of the Trust during the course of this year were again limited due to a long-term illness suffered by the Trust Chairman. Thankfully he is now restored to full health.
Overall results indicate a net decrease in funds over the year of £1,366 with total income for last year falling by 29% to £5,909. Even so, grant expenditure increased by 9% to £6,225. As at 31st March 2006 the net worth of the Trust amounted to £5,232.
The Harvesters Trust has raised more than £115,000 and given away more than £90,000 since being formed in 1993. Supporters filling special savings tins with their loose change have collected more than £10,000.
During the course of the year the Trust continued to support pastors in South Africa, India, Serbia and Zambia as well as 4 UK based workers / organisations. A number of special grants were also made including another grant to help build a medical centre in Guatemala and a grant to support a mission trip to Ireland.
This year also saw the appointment of two new trustees, namely Jim & Lucinda Irvine from Northern Ireland. We are delighted to welcome Jim & Lucinda on board and pray that they will be richly blessed as they serve God in this way.
The Harvesters Trust cannot function without the generous help and support of many people. Once again, we want to thank you all so much.
We would like to thank Mr Chris Hindley F.C.A. for independently checking and auditing the financial accounts.
Yours in Christ
Michael Wood
Chairman
27th January 2007
